Using a device emitting a high-power green laser, Cutera® Excel V™ is a laser treatment that targets and heats abnormal blood vessels in the skin. After several treatments, these abnormal blood vessels will eventually collapse and seal shut, rendering them less visible. The Cutera Excel V also can target pigment within the epidermis causing fragmentation and reduction of the skin’s discoloration. No injections or topical anesthetics are required and many patients report minimal discomfort afterward. Each procedure is typically 30 – 45 minutes in length, and the number of required treatments will vary upon the size, thickness, color, and type of lesion being treated.
While many patients see desired results with the diminished appearance of existing redness, vessels, and/or pigmentation please be aware that maintenance may be required in the future.
