During surgery, Dr. Sofonio will generally make an incision within the posterior or back portion of the ear to allow him to reshape it. The duration of your ear surgery will depend upon the nature of the problem and the surgical technique utilized. Once your surgery is completed, you will be taken to a recovery area and then you will be able to go home the same day to rest and recover.

Post-Treatment Care

Following your ear surgery, you will need to elevate your head to keep swelling to a minimum. You may also need to wear dressings or bandages around your ears to encourage the ears to heal in their new position.
